Hi, welcome aboard! My name is Adam Paul, and I am the Founder, Owner, and Guide-in-Charge of Kilimanjaro Group Joining and Safari Veterans Company.
I have worked in the tourism industry in Northern Tanzania for over 21 years. My journey began at the age of 14 as a porter on Mount Kilimanjaro. Although I was very young, my family's financial circumstances left me with few alternatives. My parents struggled to pay school fees for both me and my younger sister, and as a result, I had to leave school while I was in Form II to help support my family.
Working on Mount Kilimanjaro became my primary source of income. Whenever I was not on the mountain, I took on other jobs, including cleaning homes, doing laundry, and ironing for local families. I was grateful for every opportunity to work because every job brought me one step closer to helping my family.
My greatest priority was ensuring that my younger sister could continue her education. At the same time, I wanted to ease the financial burden on my parents. I paid for their medical insurance, covered the household water and electricity bills, and made sure they always had dinner on the table. This allowed my parents to focus on providing breakfast and lunch while I took responsibility for the rest.
All the sacrifices and hard work were worthwhile. Today, my younger sister is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania, a milestone that fills our entire family with pride.
My journey has taught me the value of perseverance, hard work, and determination. These experiences continue to inspire the way I lead my team and guide our guests, ensuring that every climber and traveler receives exceptional care and an unforgettable experience in Tanzania.
About Our Company:
Kilimanjaro Group Joining and Safari Veterans Company, is a locally owned tour company specializing in Mount Kilimanjaro climbs and wildlife safaris in Northern Tanzania.
As a newly established company, you may not yet find any online reviews about us. However, the only thing that is new is our company name—not the experience, professionalism, or dedication of our team. For many years, we worked with other established tour operators, successfully guiding climbers and safari guests from around the world. During that time, we were unable to request reviews under our own name, as we represented the companies we worked for. The photos below capture some of the memorable moments we shared with our guests throughout those years.
Today, we are proud to bring that same expertise and commitment to our own company. We warmly invite you to begin this journey with us, and perhaps you will become one of our very first guests to share a review of your experience.
Our team consists of:
7 professional mountain guides, each supported by a dedicated team of experienced porters.
7 skilled mountain chefs, who prepare fresh and nutritious meals throughout your expedition.
1 Operations Manager, responsible for coordinating every aspect of your trip.
3 additional support staff, ensuring smooth logistics and exceptional customer service.
Every member of our mountain crew is highly experienced, professionally trained, and passionate about providing a safe, enjoyable, and successful adventure.
If you arrive in Moshi while I am leading a climb on Mount Kilimanjaro, our Operations Manager, Nuhu Sonko, will personally welcome you and ensure that every detail of your trip is well organized. He will assign your Kilimanjaro expedition crew, conduct your pre-climb briefing, assist you with equipment checks, and help you rent any personal gear you may be missing.
Our operations are based at BnB Hotel, located on Ushirika Street, Moshi. All of our Mount Kilimanjaro expeditions begin and end at the hotel, providing a convenient meeting point and comfortable base before and after your adventure.
Our company was built on the same values that shaped my life: integrity, hard work, respect, safety, and genuine hospitality. We believe every guest deserves more than just a tour—they deserve a meaningful experience, authentic connections, and a team that truly cares about their journey.
When you climb Mount Kilimanjaro or explore Tanzania with us, you are not simply booking a trip. You become part of a story built on perseverance, passion, and the belief that every summit—whether on a mountain or in life—is reached one step at a time.
Thank you for trusting us to be part of your adventure. My team and I look forward to welcoming you to Tanzania and helping you create memories that will last a lifetime.

Kilimanjaro Trekking Without Acclimatization Day
Although 30% of all climbers, still to date, choose the standard (shorter) itineraries for their Kilimanjaro expeditions. However, we only recommend the attempt for experienced mountaineers with strong background in mountain trekking and high-altitude expeditions.
If you have well studied and understood (based on your previous mountains trekking experience) how your body responds to high altitude, and you are in excellent physical condition, you may be well prepared to attempt one of Kilimanjaro's standard itineraries without extending your schedule.
However, it is important to remember that altitude affects every individual differently, regardless of fitness or previous experience.

Our Popular Kilimanjaro Trips With Acclimatization Day
Adding an extra day to your Mount Kilimanjaro climb is widely considered the single best way to guarantee you reach the summit. It drastically minimizes the risk of altitude sickness by giving your body time to adapt to lower oxygen levels, turning a grueling, rushed experience into a safer and more enjoyable trek.
Routes with extended, 7- to 8-day itineraries have significantly higher success rates compared to standard 5- to 6-day routes (like the standard 5-day Marangu Route).

Tanzania Camping Safari Packages
A Tanzania camping safari is unique because it strips away hotel walls, offering an immersive bush experience. You fall asleep to the raw sounds of lions and hyenas, and wake up directly on the savannah—all at a significantly lower cost than luxury lodges.
Its unique appeal is driven by these specific factors:
Unfenced Campsites: Unlike other regions where animals are kept out, Tanzanian campsites in areas like the Serengeti are completely unfenced. Wildlife freely wanders through, allowing for close encounters right outside your canvas tent.
Immersive Nighttime Vibe: Spending an evening by a crackling campfire under the bright, unobstructed African stars offers a traditional, nostalgic wilderness connection that lodge rooms cannot match.
Value for Money: Camping is the most budget-friendly way to access the world-famous "Northern Circuit" (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, and Lake Manyara), allowing you to spend your budget on more days in the park rather than expensive lodging.
Fully Supported "Mobile" Camping: You do not rough it entirely. Local tour operators handle the logistics, with a dedicated crew setting up tents and cooking fresh, hot meals for you in the bush.
The Wildebeest Migration: Tanzania hosts the majority of this natural wonder. Camping positions you directly in the path of the herds, allowing you to wake up and start viewing the migration immediately.

Tanzania VISA Information
Most nationalities require a visa to enter Tanzania. There are two main options for obtaining a visa:
Visa on Arrival:
Tanzania offers visas on arrival for citizens of many countries. Upon arrival at the airport, you can obtain a tourist visa. For this, you need to complete the necessary forms, provide the required documents, and pay the visa fee in cash (USD is recommended). Tanzania Visa on arrival is typically valid for a single entry of up to 90 days.
Advance Visa:
Some nationalities are required to obtain a visa in advance from Tanzanian embassies or consulates in their home country. It is advisable to check the immigration.go.tz site for the latest visa requirements according to your specific nationality.
Note– Visa requirements can change, so it's recommended to verify the most up-to-date information from the Tanzanian embassy in your home country before traveling. Traveling with Affordable Kilimanjaro Company can provide assistance in obtaining the necessary visas for your holiday in Tanzania.
Tanzania Yellow Fever Requirements
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry into Tanzania only if you are arriving from, or have transited for more than 12 hours through, a country with risk of yellow fever transmission
It is not required for travelers coming directly from non-endemic areas like the U.S., Europe, or Japan
Do I Need Malaria Pills for Tanzania?
Malaria risk is high throughout Tanzania at elevations below 1,800 meters (5,900 feet), and prevention requires prescription antimalarial medication, mosquito bite avoidance, and prompt medical testing if a fever develops.
Prevention and Medication
Prescription Pills: Take preventative medicines like atovaquone-proguanil (Malarone), doxycycline, or mefloquine. Start before your trip as directed by your doctor.
No Vaccine: There is no commercial vaccine available for travelers to prevent malaria.
High-Altitude Exception: Risk is very low or non-existent only at very high altitudes, such as high points of Mount Kilimanjaro. Safari parks and coastal areas like Zanzibar are high-risk zones.
Mosquito Bite Protection
Insect Repellent: Use sprays with 30%+ DEET or picaridin on exposed skin.
Clothing: Wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants after sunset and at dawn.
Sleeping Conditions: Sleep under permethrin-treated mosquito nets or in air-conditioned rooms with screened windows
